Abstract:

Many changes have been made in the SVD1.4 frontend control system since the last release of the SVD1.0 TDR. The purpose of this note is to provide the SVD2.0 developpers as well as the SVD1.4 on-call shifters the up-to-date information on the SVD1.4 frontend control system that includes details of the control firmware on REBOs, RAMBOs and TTMs.

Before reading this note, it is important for one to read the CORE NIM paper[1] in advance. Although the description of the function codes is obsolete, this paper provides a fairly good overview of the SVD frontend COntrol and REpeater system (the CORE system). I also recommend to read the sections on VA1 functionality and the TTM in SVD1.0 TDR[2]. This note assumes that readers have read both them and are familiar to the basics of the SVD1.4 readout system.
